FAMU CASS Building is Closer to Complete Funding

The Florida A & M University Center for Access & Student Success (CASS) Building project is closer to complete funding. Both the House and Senate approved a spending bill including the $24.8 million needed to complete the project. Said plan is waiting on Governor Ron DeSantis' approval about which the university feels optimistic.

Yesterday was the groundbreaking ceremony for the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center expansion project that is expected to start this spring. This project will be a 110, 000 square foot expansion of the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center. It will include a new 580 bed tower, new medical housing, a secondary warming kitchen, an additional laundry.

Today the Volusia County Council, Sheriff Mike Chitwood, members of the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, Ajax Building Corporation, and SchenkelShultz Architecture cut the ribbon on the brand new 35,000 SF evidence storage facility. This facility replaces one that was originally built in the 1930's, one that the county had far outgrown.

We are thrilled and honored to have been chosen for the Santa Rosa County Courthouse project! We will be partnering with Sam Marshall Architects, and HOK for a design-build of a brand new judicial center complex. This complex will be approximately 100,000 SF and constructed on a 19 acre parcel on Avalon Blvd. in Milton. The project, per Florida Statute 255.

The Okaloosa Courthouse just held its ribbon cutting ceremony to a crowd of about 250 people. Although previously relocated employees have not moved into the new facility the first case is scheduled for January 2nd.

Ajax Building Corporation of Georgia has just been awarded the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center expansion in Canton, GA. We will be teaming up Studio 8 Design for the architecture and engineering. The current detention facility was completed in 2002, but the jail with only 96 beds dates back 30 plus years.
