Strike, and strike again: FAMU cuts ribbon, opens ‘student success’ center
“Amidst the backdrop of an 8-foot-tall coiled rattler sculpture, Florida A&M University President Larry Robinson presided over a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday for the Center for Access and Student Success. The nearly $40 million, three-story, 73,000-square-foot structure opened for occupancy in January. Its completion marks several years of planning by administrators and students and appropriations from the Florida Legislature and Gov. Ron DeSantis in bringing FAMU’s student services under one setting. “The Center for Access and Student Success will make life easier by providing a one-stop shop for student services and is just another example of the ‘great things that are happening every day at FAMU,’ “ Robinson said.” – Byron Dobson, Tallahassee Democrat
