Tallahassee's first indoor mall has started to come down, as of Tuesday August 10th, to make way for the brand new City of Tallahassee Police Department headquarters. Northwood Centre is definitely a part of Tallahassee history because it originally opened in 1969. Repurposing the building for this new facility was not possible since several renovations created an "incongruent design.

Representatives from the Volusia County school district, the city of Daytona Beach and the architecture (BRPH) and construction company (Ajax) working on the school gathered for a groundbreaking on Monday, for the new school which will replace the existing Ortona and Osceola elementary schools.
