The Backyard Sports Complex at KWHS

The project, which is slated for completion next month, includes new bleachers and press boxes, new turf on the girls softball field, at left, and the multipurpose main field that will host lacrosse, football and track and field events.”
This design-build project, slated to complete in early 2021, will include the replacement of the Key West High School’s current competition athletic fields (football, soccer, lacrosse, track/field, softball) with an artificial turf field surface on the existing footprint.
There will be an eight-lane IAAF Certified S200 track surface with specially designated areas for the high jump, two pits for the long jump, pole vault, shot put and discus. The softball field with also receive a new artificial turf field surface, upgraded sports lighting to Musco LED. Other components of this project will include walkways between fields and school buildings, concrete pads for bleacher placement, PA system, dugouts, drinking fountains, scoreboards, horizontal netting over softball bleachers, and security fencing.
