Julington Creek Plantation Park and Aquatics Center
The Julington Creek Plantation Community Development District selected Ajax as the Construction Manager to deliver their new Park and Aquatics Center. Their existing facility had become dated and no longer meets the needs of their multigenerational community. The new pools and facilities will support the busy aquatics program in the community. The scope of the project consisted of the demolition of the Aquatics & Park facilities and the construction of a new Aquatics and Park facility. The majority of the structure’s exterior walls were masonry construction, and the roofing consisted of a standing seam metal roof panel system.
The new Aquatic facility consists of five buildings, three pools, two slides, with one slide tower. The pools include a new Competition Pool complete with starting platforms, swimming lanes and time clock, a new Family Pool complete with Kiddie Slide and a new Adult Pool for more casual lounging. The structures feature a new two-story Clubhouse (10,762 gsf), single-story Bar & Grill (4,100 gsf), single-story Shade Pavilion (1,867 gsf), single-story Restroom Building (1,475 gsf), single-story Pool Equipment Building (953 gsf), and slide tower for the Family Pool.
This project also included a major upgrade to their community park. This will consist of four new structures, the renovation of two pavilions, three new pavilions, a new restroom building, and the installation of new playground equipment (by owner). Site work included fill, grading, wet utilities, new bridge / boardwalk, drainage pond enlargement, new parking, and landscaping.
