Pasco County Fire Station #19
Fire Station No. 19 is the second two story fire station in Pasco County with a total area of 18,504 square feet. The apparatus bay is large enough to store a total of eight firefighting and rescue vehicles. The living quarters provides bunk rooms for twelve fire fighters with a flex space that can temporarily house up to four more staff members during an emergency call up. Support spaces for the fire fighters include a kitchen with commercial grade appliances, a cardio exercise room and a training equipped with state of the art electronic technology.
Fire Station No. 19 addresses fire fighter safety through the implementation of the warm zone concept that provides decontamination showers for staff to clean themselves of any dangerous contaminants upon return to station from a fire ground or other hazardous scene. The warm zone decontamination showers are fully segregated from the rest of the station living quarters.
This station is also equipped with the latest dispatch system recently implemented by Pasco County. This automated system greatly reduces response time to an emergency by giving station staff more information regarding an emergency call in a much faster way than was previously possible.
