St. Petersburg Clearwater Airport Renovations
Ajax worked at the St. Petersburg-Clearwater Airport in three phases. The first phase (completed in October 2009), consisted of a partial demolition of the existing passenger holding areas with new loading bridges, as well as the renovation of one of the Ticketing and TSA screening areas. This including the installation of a new baggage conveyor system and related TSA upgrades, the expansion and renovation of passenger waiting areas, a new chiller plant, upgrades of existing restrooms and the construction of a new 4 hour separation.
St. Petersburg-Clearwater Airport Phase 2 (completed in April 2010), included furnishing labor, materials and equipment for the replacement of the automatic sliding doors at the landside entries, the replacement and hardware upgrades to airside doors including access control, the replacement of two (2) passenger elevators, paving and sitework improvements at the airside apron ramp, sitework and paving of sidewalks along the landside terminal curbfront road, roof replacement, providing and installing custom millwork, interior wall and floor finishes, inbound and outbound baggage conveyor systems and electrical installation associated with improvements names above. The work was conducted in multiple phases to allow the Terminal to operate smoothly, without interruption.
Phase 3, involved new air condition units, hydronic piping, HVAC controls, new roofing system, skylight modifications, fire alarm upgrades, related abatement and miscellaneous architecture modifications. This multi-phased project required close coordination and scheduling to ensure the airport remained fully operational during construction.
