Hillsborough County Spoto High School Classroom Addition
The Spoto High School Classroom Addition project consisted of a 20 classroom, 2 story concrete tilt wall addition on an occupied campus along with with a campus wide HVAC system upgrade.
The 31,031 SF addition houses general classrooms, Chemistry and Biology labs and a Culinary Arts teaching kitchen. The campus wide HVAC system was upgraded and included replacement chillers, pumps and cooling tower. The addition was partially built in the existing Student Parking Lot requiring relocation of several underground utility services and the reconfiguration of parking. The new building is adjacent to another classroom building and connected by a 2nd floor level bridge. The campus remained active and occupied during all phases of construction which required the HVAC work to be performed in a condensed time frame over Winter Break, necessitating detailed coordination and sequence of activities to ensure the campus systems were operational at all times.
