Duval County Public Schools Ed White High School Classroom Addition
The Ed White High School Classroom Addition replaced portable classroom space with permanent classrooms for the students. Ajax was selected to build one 20,410 SF, single story, stand alone 12 classroom addition that included an administration suite, 3 science labs, and a DHH Classroom for sound sensitive students. The building is constructed of block and brick with steel joists and deck, and bituminous roofing on light weight concrete. Demolition included 2 existing concrete pads used as outdoor basketball courts to make room for the building pad. Sitework included correcting existing drainage issues on the south and west side of campus, expanding an existing storm water pond, a new bus loop, and repaving the existing student parking lot.
This project earned an ABC Eagle Award of Excellence.
