The 89,555 SF, 1,200-bed Gulf County Correctional Facility required extensive sitework and included the construction of several new facilities. The project included a visitor control building, health classification facility, food service building, three t-cell cell buildings, five open bay dormitories, security installations and additions to the treatment plant. The 14-month long project was completed one month ahead of schedule in October 1995 at a total cost to the Owner of $13.7 million.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution Annex

The Santa Rosa Correctional Annex project consisted of thirty-five (35) separate buildings on a compound covering approximately 54 acres. This proect included extensive site work, utilities and all associated security requirements (fencing, razor wire, motion detection, cameras, etc). The Annex included three Secured Housing, three Open Bay Dorms, Front and Rear Support and Central Control Tower and the majority of the site work. All work was completed in June 2006. The sitework included stormwater expansion, security fencing, a 22,500 LF Geothermal Loop System and 14 Supply and Recharge Wells.

Covering 180,000 SF, the Wakulla County Correctional Institution was designed and constructed to hold a total of 1,200 inmates. The campus is divided into different units consisting of an administration building, a visitor control center, a food service center, a health unit, laundry area and three T-Cells. A warehouse and maintenance facility was also built just beyond the secured perimeter. The entire site was prepared and pads put in place to meet future expansion needs. In addition to facility construction, Ajax was responsible for the infrastructure of the entire 120 acres (80 inside the compound). The project included extensive site work, clearing, cut, fill, and installation of five miles of road. A premium was placed on the implementation of environmental controls.
