Ogeechee Technical College Joseph E. Kennedy Building / Annex / Renovations

Ogeechee Technical College, located in Statesboro, GA, is a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia. Ogeechee Tech is an institution of higher education that contributes to the economic, educational, and community development of its three-county service area. For this project, Ajax teamed with Collins Cooper Carusi to renovate the Joseph E. Kennedy Building to further develop the student centered environment that Ogeechee Tech has done such a great job creating.

The renovation focused on three areas within the occupied building: Student Affairs, Food Services Area, and the Auditorium. The goal of the student affairs area was to create a “one stop shop” to optimize the flow of this highly utilized area and to develop more of an enhanced student/visitor entrance on the south side of the building.  It was desired to develop a signature food services area that was occupied by a computer lab. The food services area expanded its space by enclosing the outdoor dining pavilion and creating, through design, a connection to the current landscape architecture that has been so thoughtfully developed. The last area to address was the current auditorium that needed cosmetic repairs and refurbishment to provide a more modern appearance.

The project earned a Georgia Peach Green Building Certification. ga-peach-logo-web
