Ortona-Osceola Elementary Students Fill Time Capsule to Signify New Beginning
June 7, 2021
“Ortona Elementary fifth-grader Savannah Surgent can think of plenty of things that future elementary schoolers should know about the 2020-21 school year — like how she and her friends used social media, and how they had to wear masks and social distance this year. The most important thing she wants future students to know: “We’re all friends here.” So Savannah wrote it all in a letter to be put in a time capsule when Beachside Elementary — the new school where Ortona and Osceola elementary schools will combine — is built in the next year or so.” – Daytona Beach News-Journal
This project with BRPH will consolidate the 2 elementary schools and include the construction of a new 95,000 SF school, which will house approximately 750 student stations on the existing approximate 11.9-acre Ortona site, as well as site re-development and demolition of the old campus.
