The new facilities are decades in the making, according to county, university and city officials who spoke, smiled and cheered at the celebration. Community trainings, education programs, 4-H youth work and private events will be held there, mostly in the new auditorium’s 13,723 net square feet, three meeting rooms and sizable teaching kitchen…”It’s exciting to be in a place where dreams actually do come true,” said Alachua County Board of County Commission Chair Marihelen Wheeler as she spoke to the crowd gathered outside the two buildings. “It’s going to be a great thing. It’s going to be a great place to come. And we’re all going to be excited to come here and share in this dream.”
