Dade City “Topping Out” Celebrates Construction Progress of Government Complex
(DADE CITY, Fl) – September 3, 2015 – Ajax Building Corporation joined Dade City law enforcement, city officials and staff on September 3rd for the “topping out” of the new Government Complex.
Designed to complement the red brick façade in the downtown historic district, the City Hall and Police Department complex will consolidate municipal services into one location. It is expected to be completed in February 2016.
A ceremonial wall signing was held to mark the end of one phase — including erecting steel and pouring concrete — and the beginning of installing interior finishes, mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems.
The 22,000-square-foot project, with a construction budget of $5.9 million, includes two separate facilities joined by a focal entry canopy that rises above both structures on the same site where City Hall once stood.
Wannemacher Jensen Architects, Inc. designed the project, which includes a chamber for the City Commission with a panoramic view of Meridian Avenue.
In addition, the project includes a state-of-the-art Police Department and Emergency Operations Center with a 911-dispatch room, secure sally port and cellblock, hard and soft interview rooms, K-9 exercise area, contemporary forensics and property/evidence area and conference/training rooms.
