City of Fort Walton Beach Announces Grand Opening of New Field Office Complex
On December 18th, the City of Fort Walton Beach, Ajax Building Company, and Sam Marshall Architects hosted a ribbon cutting, lunch and tours of the brand new Field Office Complex at 7 Hollywood Blvd and the corner of Jet Drive.
The new Field Office Complex totals 48,493 gross square feet and is located on an 8.94 acre site in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The four (4) new pre-engineered metal building structures include a: Field Office Building 26,063 SF; Fleet Maintenance Building 11,630 SF; Covered Storage Building 10,800 SF, and a Parks & Recreation Office 1,325 SF. The design-build team also master planned the redevelopment of the current Field Office Complex to provide additional recreation fields, restroom facilities, concession areas, and parking.
“This new facility has been a long time coming,” said City Manager Michael Beedie. “We have been looking at the replacement of our current aging buildings for many years, and we are fortunate that the City Council agreed that it was time to move forward. Construction of a new field office was listed as a priority in the City’s 2017 Facilities Master Plan Phase 1 Recommendations. This new facility will be an asset to our community.”
