Ajax Building Corporation Celebrates Excellence Of 21 Trade Partners Across Florida, Georgia

TALLAHASSEE, FL— August 13, 2015 – Ajax Building Corporation, a nationally recognized family-owned commercial construction management company, has named 21 trade partners as Subcontractor of the Year winners for their commitment to teamwork, safety and a high level of quality in 13 building projects across Florida and Georgia.

The winning subcontractors delivered exemplary work on a broad range of projects recently completed and managed out of seven regional areas throughout both states. They included projects on five separate higher education campuses, two elementary schools, two libraries, a hospital, an airport and an emergency operations center.

The awards are divided into the following three professional categories 1) Site/Structural/Building Trades, 2) Finish Trades and 3) Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Technology (MEPT) Trades. The regional winners included:

North Florida region:

  • Site/Structural/Building Trades: Great Southern Demolition, Inc., Tallahassee, for Oak Ridge Elementary School.
  • Finish Trades: Ingram Enterprises, Inc., Tallahassee, for Oak Ridge Elementary School.
  • MEPT Trades: Joyner Electric, Inc., Tallahassee, for Oak Ridge Elementary School.

Northeast Florida region:

  • Site/Structural/Building Trades: Besch and Smith Civil Group, Inc., St. Augustine, for University of North Florida Osprey Clubhouse.
  • Finish Trades: J.E. Abercrombie, Inc., Jacksonville, for University of North Florida Osprey Clubhouse.
  • MEPT Trades: Regency Electric Company, Inc., Jacksonville, for University of North Florida Osprey Clubhouse.

North Central Florida region:

  • Site/Structural/Building Trades: Florida Concrete Construction Company, Ocala, for University of Florida Heavener Hall.
  • Finish Trades: Teal Tile & Carpet, Inc., Altamonte Springs, for University of Florida Heavener Hall and UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital.
  • MEPT Trades: Mid-State, Inc., Gainesville, for University of Florida Heavener Hall.

Central Florida region:

  • Site/Structural/Building Trades: Doug Conner, Inc., Melbourne, for Eastern Florida State College Public Safety Institute.
  • Finish Trades: A&W Construction Services, Inc., Daytona Beach, for Eastern Florida State College Public Safety Institute.
  • MEPT Trades: Boys Electrical Contractors, LLC, Melbourne, for Eastern Florida State College Public Safety Institute.

West Florida region:

  • Site/Structural/Building Trades: Gilbert & Byrd Masonry Contractors, Inc., Largo, for Pinellas County Central Energy Plant.
  • Finish Trades: Merit Professional Coatings, Inc., Tampa, for Pinellas County Central Energy Plant, Oldsmar Elementary School and St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport.
  • MEPT Trades: Tappouni Mechanical Services, Inc., Tampa, for Oldsmar Elementary School.

Southwest Florida region:

  • Site/Structural/Building Trades: Dana Site Development & Paving, Inc., Palmetto, for Sarasota Emergency Operations Center.
  • Finish Trades: West Star Interiors, Inc., Tampa, New College Cook Library.
  • MEPT Trades: BCH Mechanical, Inc., Largo, for Sarasota Emergency Operations Center.

Georgia

  • Site/Structural/Building Trades: Masonry Dixie, Inc., Cumming, for East Roswell Library.
  • Finish Trades: Cherokee Acoustical, LLC., Blairsville, Georgia Regents University Cancer Research Lab and East Roswell Library.
  • MEPT Trades: Gold Mech, Inc., Augusta, for Georgia Regents University Cancer Research Lab and HVAC upgrades.

Winners were selected from criteria based on the company’s safety programs and practices, adherence to the project schedule, project documentation, their ability to contribute to a quality job for each client, and their overall teamwork approach in the performance of their work.
