Ajax Building Corporation Breaks Ground on a New Field Office for the City of Fort Walton Beach
Tallahassee, FL – September 17, 2018 – Ajax Building Corporation, a nationally recognized family-owned commercial construction company, will join city leaders and community members to break ground on the City of Fort Walton Beach’s brand new Field Office Complex.
The new complex will total 49,818 square feet on an 8.94 acre site and include four (4) buildings for various departments. The first three buildings will reside at Jet Drive while the Parks & Recreation Office will be at Hollywood Blvd:
- Field Office Building: 26,063 SF
- Fleet Maintenance: 11,630 SF
- Covered Storage: 10,800 SF
- Parks & Recreation: 1,325 SF
This project is much anticipated by Fort Walton Beach because it will consolidate multiple departments from varied sites around the city into one location. This consolidation will lead to greater operational efficiency, shared resources across these departments, on-site training, a higher level of protection of city assets, and increased employee safety and comfort.
Initial project mobilization occurred on August 20th while the ground breaking will take place on September 17th. The project’s substantial completion is being projected to finish a year later in September 2019. The project is being designed by Sam Marshall Architects.
