Ajax Building Corporation Breaks Ground On Eastern Florida State College Health Sciences Institute
MELBOURNE, FL— August 17, 2015 – Ajax Building Corporation, a nationally recognized family-owned commercial construction management company, joined education and community leaders today to break ground on the Health Sciences Institute on Eastern Florida State College’s Melbourne campus.
The 65,000-square-foot institute, with a construction budget of $14.5 million, will serve as a “gateway” to the campus. When competed in the fall of 2016, it will house a dozen programs and specialized labs to train health care professionals in a wide range of fields.
The two-story building will consolidate a majority of the Nursing and Health Sciences Institute into one centralized campus location. It will include office, classroom, laboratory, support services and student services space for the Nursing, Radiation Therapy, Surgical Tech and Respiratory Therapy programs.
“We are excited to serve as Construction Manager at Risk for this much-anticipated institute,” said Ajax President Bill Byrne. “Having recently completed the college’s Public Safety Institute, we are particularly honored to be building this magnificent facility that will serve as the new entryway to this vibrant and growing campus.”
Ajax completed the $12.5 million, 60,000-square-foot Public Safety Institute late last year, in time for the winter 2015 semester.
