FGCU Whitaker Science, Math & Technology Building
Ajax Building Corporation was selected in March 1999 to construct the new Whitaker Center for Florida Gulf Coast University. This new 58,000 SF building was the fifth academic building on the new FGCU campus. The Whitaker Center is located in the heart of campus and is connected to nearby Academic Building II by a covered walkway.
The Center is devoted to improving science, mathematics and technology education in Southwest Florida. The two-story building includes 31,635 SF of teaching and research laboratories, 4,500 SF of classroom space, 3,960 SF of auditorium exhibition space, and 16,930 SF of study, office and computer space.
