Built in 1953, the original Okaloosa County Courthouse was no longer able to keep up with the growth and demands of the community. Ajax led the Design-Build team to replace the original courthouse with a new 68,000 SF facility.
Columbia County is relocating their County Detention Facility to be co-located with the existing Columbia County Sheriff’s Administrative Complex. The project consists of building a new Detention Facility on the property where the current Sheriff’s Administration complex is located.
Working closely and proactively with the Architect on a daily basis, this project involved the renovation of the entire first floor (24,884 GSF) of the existing operational court building in downtown St. Petersburg.
The Pasco County Courthouse Renovation was an 18 month, three phase renovation project in Dade City, Florida. Coordination was the key for this project because all courthouse functions remained in full operation during the entire project.
The Jackson County Courthouse Renovation consisted of replacing all four existing Portico slabs, entry steps, and sidewalks. The project also involved installing new exterior stucco and re-sealing the existing precast panels on the building.
The Florida Supreme Court building we recognize today was built in the late 1940’s. The primary scope of this project involved replacing the iconic copper roof of the building, along with the remaining concrete tile and modified bitumen roof sections.

The existing Justice Center, originally completed in 1999, consists of a five-story building interconnected with a three-story building, totaling 197,131 GSF. The purpose of the project was to meet the needs of the county in the coming years through efficient.
This project consisted of a stand-alone three-story county courthouse of approximately 110,000 gross square feet situated on 19 acres on Avalon Boulevard in Milton. The building houses eight courtrooms, eight judge’s suites and all the necessary support services including a secure holding area for inmates, hearing rooms, a law library, evidence rooms, jury selection and jury deliberation spaces.
