Monroe County Schools Transportation & Internal Services Facility

The 1.93 acre site and existing two-story building will be renovated to house the Transportation and Internal Services departments for the Monroe County School District.  The 28,000 SF project includes garage maintenance, fueling stations, bus wash, warehouse, open parking, administrative offices and conference rooms.  The new buildings will also include state of the art technology and security components incorporated into an environmentally sensitive design that fits into the surrounding Key West/Stock Island community.

CURRENT STATUS (as of 5/8/20)

Throughout April, the building prime coat of paint was applied and the overhead doors and wall supported canopies were installed. The fuel tank slab, East ramp slab and South fluids platform slab were all placed. The bus wash sediment pit base was also placed and the East mechanical yard screen wall was constructed. Standing seam roof installation is ongoing.

Interior wall framing, drywall installation and MEPF rough-in are ongoing. Hollow metal doors are being painted along with interior exposed block walls. Drywall finishing is ongoing in rooms near the main entry. HVAC startup will commence in mid-May.
