PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
In May 1998, Ajax Building Corporation was awarded a $28.6 million contract to perform construction management work for the Washington County School Board on three separate schools. In addition to performing work on a middle and high school in Chipley, FL, Ajax was asked to build a new middle school in Vernon, FL.

This was the first new school construction undertaken by the Washington County School Board since 1953, and the first time that a Construction Management Contract was utilized.

The 66,700 SF new Vernon Middle School sits on a 21 acre site in Vernon, Florida. The facility consists of five buildings, 22 classrooms, Media Center and 2 Computer Labs. The Gymnasium has a seating capacity of 1,000, while the cafeteria will seat 500.
