PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This project sits on 40 acres of land along Elgin Blvd. in Spring Hill, Florida. The 240,000 S.F. facility houses Kindergarten through Eighth grade students, and is designed to maximize land use, efficiency, and security.
The main building is composed of three areas that can be quickly secured in case of emergency. The east wing is the elementary area, and the west wing is the middle school area. A central mall area consists of the administrative offices and shared areas such as the media center, dining and kitchen areas, main stairs, and the gymnasium. The structure of the building is masonry exterior with a brick façade. A PSI concrete joist system is utilized on the second floor, and structural steel joists support the roof of the facility.
Two outbuildings off the main building structure serve as a separate mechanical building for the chiller yard, and a P.E. storage building. Outdoor athletic facilities including baseball, basketball, softball, tennis courts, and a soccer/football field are located on the site. The project also adds landscaping and buffer walls, water retention areas, parking areas, and other infrastructure improvements to the previously undeveloped land
