PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Ajax Building Corporation recently completed the first phase of this $6.8 million building that will serve as a recreational facility for the faculty and students of Florida A&M University.
The three-story, 39,000 sq. ft. structure provides adequate space for intramural and recreational sports, fitness and nutrition offices, and intramural and recreational programs. This facility also includes spaces for meeting rooms and a wide variety of other recreational activities.
The building contains a Fitness Training Area For Free Weights, Cardiovascular Machines, Selectorized Weight Equipment, Aerobic/Martial Arts/Dance Studios, Raised Jogging Track, Sauna And Whirlpool, and Locker Rooms.
Through Ajax ’s implementation of an Owner’s Direct Purchase program, approximately $60,000 in construction material cost was saved in the first Phase of the project.
Ajax is currently completing the second phase of the project which includes new intramural fields.
