PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Renovation/Remodel of 4th Floor Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Institute to house the Center for Movement Disorders. This project consists of approximately 14,400 SF or remodeling of the existing fourth floor of the University of Florida Orthopedics Building. Work will require demolition and removal of existing interior partitions, doors and door frames, ceilings, and finishes. Select ceiling light fixtures and other MEP components will be preserved for reuse in the new construction. New construction will result in exam rooms, clerical spaces, and other support facilities for a Movement Disorders and Neurorestoration Center serving the University of Florida and the world at large.
CURRENT STATUS (4/1/11):
March was the final month of the Movement Disorders project. The Buckhoist was dismantled at the beginning of the month and the wall section that was removed for access was replaced. Finish trades wrapped up their activities including specialties, data, signage, and furniture installation. Work to complete items on the Ajax deficiency list was ongoing and a final cleaning was completed on the entire floor. The Substantial Completion inspection was March 22. All final inspections were passed and Final Completion was on April 1, 2011. .
