PROJECT DESCRIPTION:The John G. Riley Elementary School Project is a renovation and addition to the oldest elementary school in Tallahassee, FL. The project consists of construction to a new Media Center, renovation of the existing Media Center to a Technology Magnet , Kitchen Addition, Classroom renovations to Building 1 thru 7, associated site utilities for the New Kitchen and Media Center and associated site work and hardscape immediately adjacent to the New Media Center Building and Food Service Area.
CURRENT STATUS (04/27/09):
The new Media Center roof is dried in and overhead rough-in for MEP and Fire Sprinkler is near completion. Interior metal stud walls and drywall are in progress. Exterior windows have been installed. Installation of the exterior brick is in progress.
The new Kitchen CMU walls are complete, as are the installation of bar joists & metal deck. The roof is dried in. Installation of MEP overhead rough-in is in progress.
Interior painting and installation of casework in Building 2 is complete and new clearstory windows are installed. VCT and temporary carpet is installed in Room 007 and the existing Media Center was relocated into this room during Spring Break. The remainder of Building 2 will be completed by the end of April.
Selective demolition of the existing Media Center took place after the school staff relocated to Building 2. This cleared the way for the New Technology Building work to begin. Interior metal stud walls and overhead MEP rough-in are currently in progress.
Paving of the Bus Loop road is complete.
