PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Punta Gorda Middle School is one of six replacement schools.

The school is located in Punta Gorda on the old middle school site located on Carmalita Street. The current budget is approximately 37 million dollars with a start date in the Fall of 2006. The projected completion is scheduled for the Spring of 2008.

The project consists of approximately 172,000 square feet of four connected buildings including a two and a three story administration / classroom buildings, a cafetorium and a gymnasium. The sitework construction consists of utilites, parking lot, bus loop and recreational fields.

CURRENT STATUS (3/13/08):
Building 1 Administration Millwork, flooring and base are installed. Specialty installation including marker-tack boards, toilet partitions / accessories, doors / hardware etc. is on-going.

Building 2 Gymnasium Ceramic tile installation in the locker room / showers is 90% complete. Ceiling Mechanical / Electrical trim is complete, ceiling tile installation has started. The athletic equipment including basketball goals, scoreboards is complete. Installation of the acoustical panels in the Gym area has started. Bathroom fixture trim out has started.

Building 3 Classrooms 1st & 2nd floors-Ceiling grid and tile installation is complete. Flooring installation is 85% complete. Millwork installation is complete. Bathroom ceramic tile installation is complete. Bathroom fixture trim out is complete. Specialty installation including marker-tack boards, toilet partitions / accessories, door / hardware etc. is on-going. 3rd floor-Ceiling Mechanical / Electrical trim out is complete, ceiling tile installation has started. Flooring installation is 65% complete. Millwork installation is 80% complete. Marker-tack board installation has started.

Building 4 Cafetorium Ceiling grid installation is complete, ceiling tile installation is 85% complete. Flooring installation is 50% complete. Bathroom ceramic tile installation is 80% complete. Millwork installation is 85% complete. The exhaust hood and walk-in cooler freezer are installed. Epoxy floor installation has started in the kitchen area. Sitework

The bus loop is complete and signed off. The first lift of paving is complete in the parking lot, curbs have been installed. Sidewalks around the building are 70% complete. The front entrance canopy is complete.
