PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Phase 1 - Ajax has started Punta Gorda Center Warehouse & Associated Site Work. This project consists of approximately 12,000 SF of new construction consisting of a new code compliant pre-engineered warehouse which houses a new print shop as well as offices and general warehouse space, demolition of existing warehouse and cooler/freezer units. It includes all needed site work to meet today’s FEMA and SWFWMD jurisdictional requirements. The GMP includes the cost for new Cooler/Freezer units. Anticipated completion is May 2012.
Phase 2 – Ajax has started Punta Gorda Center Surplus Store and Maintenance & Operations Building. The Surplus Store consists of approximately 6,000 SF of new construction including warehouse space in the rear of the building and retail in the front. The Surplus Store is located directly north of the Warehouse building and is connected with an aluminum canopy. The Maintenance & Operations Building consists of approximately 21,000 SF of new construction which includes offices, shop space, and storage. GMP also includes the phased demolition of existing structures and surrounding Sitework. Anticipated completion is November 2012.
CURRENT STATUS (5/1/12):
Phase 1 – The building is under permanent power. The cooler, freezers, and HVAC systems have been brought online and are currently being tested. Electrical systems are being completed and tested. Floor coatings in the print shop, warehouse, coolers, and freezers were installed in late April. Finished spaces have received their second coat of paint and ceiling tiles are in. The remainder of the Phase 1 parking lot was paved in the late March. Phase 1 is currently 72% complete and on schedule.
Phase 2 – The Surplus Store is also under permanent power, HVAC is up and running, and electrical systems are being completed and tested. Floor coatings, finish paint, and ceiling tile are scheduled for the first week of May. Aluminum canopies have been installed between the Warehouse & Surplus Store and at the front of the Surplus Store. Sidewalks have been poured and the grass is in.
At the M&O Facility, interior metal framing is at 95% and drywall is being hung in select places. Aluminum storefront and glazing has been installed. Exterior hollow metal and overhead doors are in place. The aluminum entrance canopy is also in. The mezzanine deck has been poured and the air handler has been installed. Ductwork, fire protection, and plumbing overhead are at 75%. Electrical wall and overhead rough in is ongoing at this time. Phase 2 is currently 54% complete and on schedule.
