PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Leon County Public Safety Complex is a multi-purpose facility being developed in partnership between the City of Tallahassee and Leon County. When complete, the facility will house the City of Tallahassee Regional Transportation Management, the Leon County Emergency Operations Center, the joint Dispatch Center for Leon County and the City of Tallahassee, the Leon County Emergency Medical Services, and an Emergency Operations Center for activation during area emergencies. This facility will be located on the corner of Easterwood Drive and Weems Road in Tallahassee. Besides the main building, it will also include a Logistics Building for Emergency Medical Services and a site for a future City of Tallahassee Fire Station.
The present design is of approximately 90,000 SF and will be constructed with ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms), structural steel, and concrete floors on metal deck. The exterior will be brick masonry and cast stone. The windows on the facility will be laminated (hurricane resistant) glass in aluminum frames. A large percentage of the interior will be constructed on a raised floor system to allow for future flexibility and ease of installation of electrical, computer, and data systems throughout the facility.
