PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Graduate Studies Building - William R. Hough Hall
This project consists of the construction of an approximately 58,000 square foot classroom building for the Warrington College of Business Administration at the University of Florida. This building will include classrooms, seminar and meeting rooms, study/lounge space for graduate students, along with staff offices and support spaces capable of hosting special events. This new building will be located at the de facto "front door" to the University on what is now a parking lot adjacent to the buildings presently housed by the College of Business Administration.
This building will be a student-oriented building designed to meet the needs of demanding professional programs, some of which are taught on weekends. The design will include comfortable and technologically advanced spaces which will promote both individual and team-oriented discussion, research, and interaction.

CURRENT STATUS (06/08/10):
During the month of May, Ajax continues to prepare for and met the Substantial Completion date of May 18, 2010. Work that was completed includes interior and exterior punch list items, the balance of landscaping and irrigation work and Owner-requested additions. The Owner-requested additions include A/V, electrical, plumbing, casework and hardscape modifications not in the original contract. While the main focus has been on the punch list so that all invasive work will be completed before the Owner is scheduled to occupy the building and Ajax plans to have interior punch-list items completed by June 20, 2010, A/V work was also ramped up during the month of May. Due to the complexity and scale of A/V work (~$1 million worth), particular attention was paid to this discipline in the month of May to ensure Owner satisfaction with the finished product and timely delivery.
Substantial Completion is scheduled for May 18, 2010 and Owner Occupancy is scheduled for June 15, 2010. The project is on schedule and within budget.
