PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This project is the third of five phases of the campus reconstruction. This phase replaces the remaining buildings damage by Hurricane Charley and later demolished. The new construction connects all remaining buildings into a cohesive single building with interior corridors, replacing the original 1926 – era campus style buildings. New construction is 236,000 SF and existing is 148,000 SF. The new area includes classroom wings for 9th and & 10th grades, a media and technology building, additions for the arts and physical education departments, and a multi-purpose room to replace the original 1926 – era auditorium damaged by the storm. Four of the five existing buildings will remain with minor upgrades, primarily to mechanical, electrical and fire protection systems. These four buildings will remain as original construction type and occupancy. The three-story is an existing building and is historical, and is being structurally reconstructed.

CURRENT STATUS (5/13/08):
Building A Existing Three Story Historical Renovation slab on grade has been poured. The second and third floor hollow core and concrete toping have been installed. The roof joists and decking installation is 70% completed. Exterior scaffolding is being erected and the exterior paint abatement is in progress. Two sections of abatement has been completed, one on the North East corner of the Building, and one on the South East corner of the Building. The abatement crews have moved to the West side of the building and begun abatement on the South West corner. Building B slab on grade has been poured. The block walls and concrete columns are up to the tie beam elevation at the second floor level. The second floor structural steel beam installation is complete. The Second floor slab was poured 4/22/08 . About 75% of the exterior block walls are up to Roof tie beam elevation, and 50% of the Roof tie beams have been poured. Interior block walls are 30% complete. Building C slab on grade has been poured. The block walls and concrete columns are up to the tie beam elevation at the second floor level. The second floor structural steel beam installation is complete. The Second floor slab was poured the week of 4/28/08 . About 30% of the exterior block walls are up to Roof tie beam elevation, and the Roof tie beams are in progress. Interior block walls are in progress. Building D and E layout has begun. The building E stem walls are in progress. Exterior walls are up to tie beam elevation.

Phase 2 Energy Plant The energy building is 99% complete with finishes 100% complete. Permanent power will be available beginning the third week in May. Start-up of the plant will commence by the fourth week in May. Storage and Ball Fields Complete and turned over to CCPS.
